Marcus Grasser

Markus Grasser MRSS (T) MRCHM.

Markus started his training in Shiatsu in 1993. From 1996 onwards he also studied under Michael Rose as well as assisting him on his teaching days for a period of 3 years. (Michael is one of the few Westerners who studied in Japan, directly under Shizuto Masunaga - the man who contributed significantly to the spreading of shiatsu to the West). Markus also completed a three-year post-graduate course with Bill Palmer in “Movement Shiatsu” to deepen his understanding of the close inter-relationship between emotions, posture, lifestyle and physical disorders.

In 2000 he set up  the European Shiatsu School Brighton and since then has been teaching the main part of the three year practitioner diploma course. In 2005 he completed his training in Chinese Herbal Medicine at the London College of Traditional Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

Markus’s particular passion is to help patients to experience and understand the inter-relationships between their presenting symptoms and their body, posture and emotions or other causes of disease (diet, environmental factors, occupational factors etc.) so that the treatment truly makes  “sense” to them.
This also empowers patients to put specific recommendations on lifestyle, exercise (including Chinese Qi Gong) and diet into practice.
