Three Day Seminar With Mazin Al-Khafaji
Day One - Cases from Mazin's Practice: The entire day will be devoted to presenting difficult or interesting cases including - Discoid Lupus, Lichen planus, Psoriasis, Parasoriasis, Eczema (various forms) Acne, Alopecia Areata, Adverse reaction to collagen implant, Panniculitis, Warts (flat and common), MRSA and others.
Day Two – Inflammatory Bowel Disease & IBS
- Inflammatory Bowel Disease includes both ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease. The two conditions lead to ulceration of the mucosa of the gastro-intestinal tract, abdominal pains, diarrhea, and frequent bouts of rectal bleeding. It typically affects young adults in the prime of their life, and is a cause of much morbidity.
- Irritable Bowels Syndrome (IBS): One of the commonest disorders of the alimentary tract affecting up to 22% of adult population at some time in their lives. It is characterised by the abdominal pain, distension and bloating, diarrhoea, constipation or bouts of alternating diarrhoea with constipation.
3. Day Three – Rheumatoid Arthritis & Graves Disease
- Rheumatoid Arthritis is the most common inflammatory disease of the joints, affecting as many as 3% of the population. It is chronic, systemic autoimmune disease of unknown cause, affecting primarily the synovial membrane.
- Graves Disease (Hyperactivity of thyroid gland) is an autoimmune disease and the most common form of hyperthyroidism, affecting up to 4-5% of all women.
