Avicenna's Main Practitioners
Mazin started his studies in Chinese medicine and the Chinese language in 1979, and gained his Doctor of Chinese Medicine from Shanghai College of TCM in 1987.
He is respected worldwide as an inspirational teacher and clinician and co-author of the textbook Manual of Acupuncture.
Mazin specialises in: Dermatology, auto-immune & allergic disease.
Ying Fan graduated as Doctor of Chinese Medicine from the prestigious Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, subsequently gaining an additional Master of Chinese Medicine in both Western and Chinese Medicine Dermatology, and has been the recipient of several scholarships and awards.
Ying Fan specialises in: dermatology, immunology and gynaecology.
Isabel has been studying and practicing Chinese Medicine for over a decade. She has a first-class BSc (Hons) degree in Chinese Medicine as well as achieving distinction level in her post-graduate diploma in Chinese Herbal Medicine.
Isabel is a member of the Associate Clinician Scheme and sees Skin and Allergy patients under Mazin Al-Khafaji's supervision.
Isabel specialises in: dermatology and gynaecology.
Virginia is an experienced acupuncturist and herbalist and has been practising Chinese medicine since 1988. She qualified in herbal medicine in 1994 at The London School of Chinese medicine under Mazin Al-Khafaji and Michael McIntyre. In 2012 she completed a specialised diploma course in dermatology with Mazin Al-Khafaji.
Since then she has worked in England, New Zealand and more recently in Italy where she taught Chinese herbal medicine in various schools.
In 1997 she studied under Dr Xu in Nanjing and has since specialised in gynaecology, particularly infertility, working with midwives and in hospitals assisting in births.
She teaches Yoga and has a particular interest in yoga therapy. She runs a Yoga Teachers Training program licensed by the Yoga Alliance.
